Well, I’m guessing you (and almost everyone) have already heard about the Henry Louis Gates Jr. incident by now, however, I won’t assume anything. CNN, and many others, have taken to writing numerous articles, blogs, letters, Tweets, posted notes and much, much more on this topic. Ladies, on a serious note you might as well remove the phrase “she’s a ho” from your vocabulary. Unless you are giving a compliment, talking to your homosexual friend or you are speaking with another female; there is absolutely NO POINT in telling a heterosexual man “she’s a ho” or “I heard she a ho” or any phrase or variation there of that can lead this man to conclude the subject of your conversation is a member of this well known garden utensil family. In fact, when you tell a man a woman is this particular type of well worn garden utensil, here is what he really hears:

The Switch! Version 1.0

Dating is war. If you are single, you are probably already keenly aware of this. Much like war, man has attempted with all his might to master the art of dating. Ideally, this entails achieving his objective in the most expedient manner possible with minimal collateral damage. That is why, since the dawn of man, men have tried with varying degrees of success to perform “The Switch” (as seen on Seinfield). Whereby man attempts to switch the current woman he is dating with another woman he is interested in – this other woman usually being the current woman’s friend, associate — or in extremely, blatantly inconsiderate cases, a family member.

I THINK I’m getting to, or around, that age where I should be looking to settle down and stop playing mind games. At least that’s what the people I play mind games with are telling me. My mom said something along those lines, too. Well, I ask you, dear reader, if I don’t play games, how will I know when I’m winning?!?
My mom says relationships aren’t about winning; they’re about connecting with someone you can see yourself with “forever” and forging a loving, ever growing, committed relationship with that person…
